Cowshed Ghost
Raghu is standing at Shimla bus stand at around 7 pm. Raghu is going to his village after seven months to spend a month's vacation. Raghu works in Shimla. Raghu is lost in the memories of his village. Just then the bus horn sounds. Raghu's bus is ready to leave. Raghu boards the bus. Raghu reaches Awahdevi at around 1 am. Raghu's house is two kilometers away from Awahdevi. Raghu has to cover the rest of the journey on foot. Raghu sees that two people from his village are also going towards home. Raghu becomes happy that he has found company. Raghu is about to call them when Raghu stops after thinking something. Raghu keeps a little distance from them and quietly follows them. Raghu remembers an incident from his life. When he was studying in class 11, one of his friends who studied in Him Academy School in Hamirpur came to the village. He had brought a red light torch with him. In the evening, all three friends set out for a walk towards the river. The three of them are sitting under a mango tree. Then they see that a middle-aged man from their village, who keeps mules, is driving his mules back towards the village. Then the three friends think of a prank. They use a red torch to illuminate the trees around him. The middle-aged man gets very scared.
One of the three friends, who is a little sensible, seeing the man scared, says, "Uncle, don't be afraid. It is we who are joking with you." This gives relief to the middle-aged man. Raghu remembers another incident. When he was studying in the twelfth grade, he and his friend Dalku were coming home at around ten o'clock at night. There is a cowshed on the way, about which there is a rumour that a ghost is found there. Raghu thinks of a prank. He secretly picks up a stone and keeps it in his pocket. As soon as the two friends reach the cowshed, Raghu who is following Dalku, secretly takes out a stone from his pocket and throws it on the roof of the cowshed. Hearing the sound, Dalku thinks that the ghost has arrived. Dalku runs towards the house in fear. As soon as the three people from Raghu's village reach the cowshed, Raghu who is following them secretly throws a stone on the roof of the cowshed and hides. Hearing the sound, all three people stop in fear. They look around but they do not see anyone. They gather courage and start walking. As soon as they take four-five steps, Raghu laughs loudly. All three men get scared. They think that the ghost is following them. One of them dares and challenges them - "We have seen many ghosts like you. We are not afraid of you. If you have courage, then come in front of them." Raghu comes in front of them making sounds of 'Hain hain hain hain'. They are unable to recognize Raghu in the dark. They feel that some black shadow is coming towards them. All three people run towards the house in fear.
The next day there is a ruckus in the village that the ghost of the cowshed has chased the people. The terror of the ghost of the cowshed spreads in the village. People return to their homes before nightfall. No one comes out of their house at night. But Raghu returns home at ten, eleven o'clock at night. Raghu's mother scolds him to come home early at night, otherwise the ghosts of the cowshed will catch him. Raghu boasts that he is not afraid of the ghosts, but the ghosts are afraid of him. Raghu returns home late at night during the entire vacation. Raghu's one month vacation ends and he goes back to Shimla. The whole village talks about Raghu's courage that Raghu is not afraid of the ghosts, but the ghosts are afraid of him.
